Maternal Health Campaign Launched

Papua New Guinea and Australia have launched a campaign to reduce the number of women dying in childbirth in PNG.  The campaign coincides with Mother’s Day and will use radio and newspaper advertising and text messages to raise the awareness of both men and women on how to keep women healthy throughout a pregnancy, and how to ensure a safe birth.

Around five women die every day due to childbirth and pregnancy in Papua New Guinea, their deaths made all the more tragic because most could have been prevented. Read more.
