URS is the managing contractor of the SPSN
Program providing project management and technical support. SPSN is an Australian Government-funded
initiative in partnership with the Government of Papua New Guinea (GoPNG). Its goal is “to enable civil society,
together with the state and others, to better meet the needs and priorities of
men, women and children in communities across PNG”.
SPSN will provide civil society, Government at
all levels, and other key stakeholders with a range of support, including
grants, capacity building, networking opportunities and research.
The SPSN Program is seeking applications for the
following positions:

1 x DISABILITY PROGRAM SUPPORT OFFICER
1 x FIELD FINANCE OFFICER

FINANCE
OFFICER
Based in SPSN Head Office, Port Moresby and reporting
to the Finance Manager, the position is primarily responsible for providing
efficient delivery of all financial and client services to the SPSN
Program. The Finance Officer will be
someone who can demonstrate:
- Strong MYOB, Accounting and Excel skills
- Understanding of Fraud Management
- Experience in financial systems
- Experience in payroll processing is an advantage
The successful candidate must have Degree or
Diploma in Accounting or Business studies and must have demonstrated financial
and strong accounting skills.
DISABILITY
PROGRAM SUPPORT OFFICER
Based in Department for Community Development
(DfCD) Office, Port Moresby and reporting to the DfCD Disability Manager, the
position is responsible for assisting the Disability Division of DfCD to
implement the Disability Inclusive Development Program (DIDP). Women and men with disabilities are strongly
encouraged to apply. The successful
candidate will demonstrate:
- Skills and experience in preparing work plans
- Skills and experience in coordinating program activities
- Skills and experience in preparing concise accurate reports
The successful candidate must have experience
working with or in disabled people’s organisations and understanding of
government policy and work relative to people with disability, including the Convention
on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD).
FIELD
FINANCE OFFICER
Based in the SPSN Kokopo Field Office and reporting
to the Field Program Coordinator, the position will ensure the efficient
delivery of all grant and operations-related financial activities with
zero-tolerance for fraud. The Field
Finance Officer will be someone who can demonstrate:
- Strong MYOB and Excel skills
- Ability to provide detailed and accurate financial reports
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Ability to train and coach communities in financial management
The successful candidate must have Degree or
Diploma in Accounting or Business studies and must have demonstrated financial
and accounting skills.
DEVELOPMENT
COORDINATORS
Based in various SPSN Field Offices and reporting
to a Field Program Coordinator, Development Coordinators will support the
activities and monitor the progress of SPSN Component initiatives and
grants. The Development Coordinator will
be someone who can demonstrate:
- Strong working experience in community development
- Experience working with informal groups, civil society organisations and/or local level government
- Strong planning, budget and coordination skills
The successful candidate must have Degree or
Diploma in the relevant field and must possess a minimum of 5 years community
development experience
