Ginigoada give Youths a second chance

Like many youths in Port Moresby City who struggle to make ends meet, Mike Gauli from Central Province who nearly thought of giving up until he attended Ginigoada Business Development Foundation’s (GBDF) Bus 2 Program at Gerehu.

With the passion to learn after Ginigoada’s Bus Program, Mike attended the Front Office Skills Training at the Morata Lions Vocational School and now is employed for Job Training with Curtain Brothers as a Human Resource Assistant.

Similarly for 24 year old Hasler Namete from East New Britain Province who attended the Bus 4 Program at the West Papua Compound.
Hasler last attended the Institute of Business Studies for six months and attained a Certificate but was unemployed for a long time. After attending Ginigoada’s Skills Training (Electrical Level 1) at Electrical Energy Services she was placed on job training with Brian Bell as HR Assistant and was later retained for employment.

According to Sponsorship and Liason Officer, Anisa Kasep the ‘Decent Life Program’ is a success with interest building up from youths around all suburbs of Port Moresby.
“This program is not only for youths with ample education but youths who have the passion and drive to make a difference in their lives and their communities,” she said.
She revealed that she has witnessed Ginigoada transform unemployed youths into professionals who are helping in giving something back to their community.

These are just two out of the hundred success stories of youths in Port Moresby whom Ginigoada has helped along the way under the ‘Decent Life Program’ with the funding assistance from the Australian Government through the Strongim Pipol Strongim Nesen Program at a total cost of K756,763.28 to date.
