SPSN set to work with training providers

SPSN hosted a series of consultative workshop for selected Training Providers in preparations for the program’s institutional grants fund to be announced in March.

The workshops were held in Port Moresby on Feb 1, Goroka on Feb 15 and Lae on Feb 17.

SPSN Capacity Development Coordinator Lucinda Kisip said this workshops provided opportunities for SPSN to gauge views from the training providers to form and shape the program’s institutional grants funding program.

The workshops theme was “Strengthening the Role of Training Providers in meeting the emerging capacity development needs of NGOs or civil society organisations (CSOs) in Papua New Guinea”.

Ms Kisip said these workshops are a part of an ongoing sector study facilitated by SPSN that looks at the supply and demand for capacity building programs and activities for civil society organisations and local government agencies that work with SPSN.

These organisations include grants recipients or partners identify by SPSN for organisational development related courses such as Finance, Project management or Human resource management.

SPSN will issue a public announcement seeking Expression of Interest from interested training providers to apply for institutional grants by late March.
