AusAID, through SPSN, aspires to identify key partner organisations as part of their commitment to encourage civil sector and government agency participation in delivering improved outcomes in democratic governance and SPSN priority areas of health, education, gender and disability.
These agencies include TIPNG, Department of Community Development who signed a K1 million grant and Consultative Implementation Monitoring Council (CIMC) who signed a K1.6 million grant.
These agreements were signed last year between the agencies.
The TIPNG funding will go towards covering the Mike Manning Youth Democracy Camp in 2011, the Understanding Corruption through Drama program for 2011 - 2012 and a wide range of organisational strengthening activities which includes funding contributions for the Legal and Research unit, the Advocacy and Legal Advice Centre, and the Strengthening Anti-Corruption Links and Networks program amongst others.
The TIPNG Partnership Agreement was signed between AusAID and TIPNG in November 2011 by AusAID Democratic Governance Unit Counsellor Kath Taplin and TIPNG Board Chairperson, Mr. Lawrence Stephens at a small ceremony in November.
Meanwhile, the funding deed with CIMC was signed last December to support their work with Family Sexual Violence Sub-Committees and the hosting of some of regional development forums in 2011 and other activities scheduled for 2012.
The DFCD agreement was signed last June by Head the of AusAID Dave Vosen and former DFCD Secretary Joseph Klapat.
Funds will be used to support gender programs and policy awareness aspects work, aspects of the integrated community development policy roll-out and developing Monitoring and Evaluation systems and processes.
